The MLB Daily Three Pack

Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Monday, April 23, 2018.

Pitcher to Target

Walker Buehler-$11,100-LAD

I don’t normally target pitchers making their first career start but Buehler is a special case as he is a special player. Buehler is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and so far in Triple-A, he has an ERA of 2.08, with a WHIP of 1.08 and a K rate of 29.6%. Buehler is holding hitters to just a .204 average in those starts. Now I know what you are saying those are Triple-A starts but he faces the Marlins who let’s face it have a Triple-A lineup. The Marlins are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball and this season they have the second worst team wOBA while having a K rate of 25.0% against right-handed pitching. Buehler also gets the benefit of pitching at Dodger Stadium which is one of the best pitcher’s parks in baseball. When factoring in salary Buehler is my top overall player on this slate and I am all in on him.

Infielder to Target

Mark Canha-$5,500-OAK

If you are looking outside of Coors Field for a team to stack the A’s are a great place to look as they face off against Matt Moore in Arlington. Moore has really struggled in his three home starts this season allowing 13 runs on 19 hits and seven walks in just 12.1 innings of work. The A’s whole lineup is in play for me tonight but I wanted to focus on one of their hitters who is likely to fly under the radar in Canha. Canha is not as known as some of the A’s hitters not that most A’s hitters are known and bats at the bottom of the order but I like him for two specific reasons tonight. The first is his salary as he is only $5,500 in salary and rostering him allows you to get some of the big bats from Coors that you are going to want. The second is the way he has hit left-handed pitching to start the season. The sample size is really small but in his 15 plate appearances against lefties, Canha has six hits with a home run and four RBIs. His numbers break down to an OPS of 1.067, an ISO of .267 and a wOBA of .462. There is no reason to believe that Canha slows down against Moore tonight.

Outfielder to Target

Charlie Blackmon-$10,600-COL

Bryan Mitchell doesn’t stand a chance against the Rockies tonight at Coors Field and I am all in on the Rockies with Blackmon being the first player I lock in as part of my stack. Blackmon is just that good at Coors Field. Since the start of last, Blackmon has an OPS of 1.209, an ISO of .366 and a wOBA of .493 at Coors. Blackmon is coming off a three-hit game in which he hit a home run yesterday and produced 24 fantasy points. I am calling my shot right here and saying that we are going to see Blackmon with a repeat performance tonight.
