The MLB Daily Three Pack

Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Pitcher to Target

Jakob Junis-$13,800-KC

Junis looked decent in his limited starts for the Royals last year and has looked like he is ready to take a leap forward this season. In his first start of the year, Junis pitched seven innings of shutout ball with six strikeouts against the Tigers. Now I know the Tigers don’t have an impressive lineup nowadays but if you watch the game it had a lot more to do with Junis skill set than the Tigers lineup. Besides tonight’s opponent the Mariners while better than the Tigers are an average team at best against right-handed pitching. What I am trying to say is while Junis may not have the kind of game tonight like he did against the Tigers he is the perfect pitcher to pair with one of the aces on this slate as well as with some of the big bats you are going to want to roster.

Infielder to Target

Maikel Franco-$7,200-PHI

I love what we have seen from Franco this season after many people thought he would lose his job to Scott Kingery. Instead of folding under the pressure Franco has risen to the occasion. In his seven games, Franco is slashing .304/.385/.696 with an ISO of .391 and a wOBA of .458. Franco has four extra-base hits including two home runs and 11 RBIs. Franco was especially great in the Phillies home opener with six total hits including all of his extra-base hits and 10 of his RBIs. While we cannot expect Franco to have performances like that everytime the Phillies have a series I like Franco to keep up his hot hitting ways tonight as the Cody Reed is an awful pitcher against right-handed hitting. In his short career, Reed is allowing right-handed hitters to slash .305/.411/.580 with a .413 wOBA. Reed has also allowed 13 home runs to righties in just 49.2 innings which works out to an HR/9 rate of 2.36.

Outfielder to Target

Bryce Harper-$10,700-WAS

Whenever the Nationals take on the Braves you need to see who is pitching for the Braves. If the Braves are starting Julio Teheran the first thing you should do is hit the lock button on Harper as he owns Teheran. Harper has faced Teheran 46 times in his career. In those plate appearances, Harper has 18 hits including eight home runs and 19 RBIs. Harper is slashing .462/.553/1.154 against Teheran. When they faced off earlier this season Harper went deep on his way to double-digit fantasy points and I am calling it now, Harper is going to have a repeat performance tonight.
