The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Guard

Andrew Harrison-$9,900-MEM

I know it is weird to see a player under $10,000 as my top guard of the night but I cannot help myself when it comes to Harrison. Harrison is just in the perfect spot tonight due to all the injuries the Grizzlies are facing. Memphis lost Mike Conley for the season a while ago and are going to be without Wayne Selden and Tyreke Evans tonight. That is going to lead to Harrison running the show for Memphis and this season he has performed well in this spot. With all three of those players off the court this season, Harrison has a usage rate of 26.2 % and is averaging 1.01 fantasy points per minute. Harrison has been especially great in the past three games that Evans has missed. In those games which includes the past two Memphis games and that game against the Jazz right before the break, Harrison is averaging 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 5.67 assists. Harrison has produced at least 30 fantasy points in each of those games. Not only does Harrison get the big boost with Evans and Selden out but we cannot forget about the match-up for Harrison as it is one of the best in the NBA. The Suns may be the worst defensive team in the league and this season they have really struggled with guards ranking in the bottom three in fantasy points allowed and defensive efficiency to the position.

Value Guard

Tyrone Wallace-$9,200-LAC

If Danilo Gallinari is out once again tonight as I expect he is I am going right back to the well with Wallace. Wallace has been fantastic in the past two games with Gallinari out. In those games, Wallace is averaging 15.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while playing at least 31 minutes. Wallace has produced at least 28 fantasy points in each of those games and I don’t see a reason why he doesn’t have similar production tonight against a Rockets team that ranks in the bottom half of the NBA in fantasy points allowed and bottom ten in the NBA in defensive efficiency to wing players.

Forward/Center

Anthony Davis-$21,100-NO

I really don’t see how you fade Davis right now with the way he is playing during the Pelicans six-game winning streak. In those games, Davis is averaging 41.5 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 3.2 steals, and 3.2 blocks. Davis has produced at least 70 fantasy points in four of those games and is averaging an unheard of 76.83 fantasy points in those games. The match-up is also not as bad as it seems as yes the Spurs are allowing the least amount of fantasy points per game to power forwards and have the third-best defensive efficiency but they have struggled to contain Davis as he has produced at least 45 fantasy points in each of their past three meetings including a 51.8 fantasy point performance earlier this season. Now, I know that is not 70 fantasy points and I don’t think we see 70 from Davis tonight but I do expect him to produce at least 55 fantasy points and to be the highest scoring player on this slate.

Value Forward/Center

JaMychal Green-$10,100-MEM

Green has played very well since the all-star break. In the Grizzlies three games, he has a double-double in each game and is averaging 15.3 points and 10.7 rebounds. Green has produced at least 25 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced at least 20 fantasy points in 14 of his past 17 games. Tonight you can expect more of the same from Green as he faces a Suns team that ranks dead last in fantasy points allowed and defensive efficiency to power forwards. Like his teammate, Andrew Harrison who I talked about earlier Green is going to be in 100% of my lineups tonight.
