The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Monday, February 26, 2018.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Victor Oladipo-$16,200-IND

I really don’t understand why Oladipo is not more expensive with Darren Collison out. Oladipo sees a huge boost in value whenever Collison is off the court. This season with Collison on the bench, Oladipo has a usage rate of 35.8% and is averaging 1.34 fantasy points per minute. In the past four games that Collison has missed that Oladipo has played he is averaging 26 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5.3 blocks+steals. Oladipo has produced at least 40 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced at least that amount of fantasy points in six straight games. Tonight against a Mavs team that has struggled against guards over the past four weeks of play I have no doubt in my mind that Oladipo will have another huge performance in this one.

Value Guard

Trey Burke-$8,800-NY

In the two games since the all-star break, Burke is averaging 26 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, a steal and 42.5 fantasy points in right around 28 minutes of action. Now, I know what you are saying there is no way that Burke can continue to put up those kinds of numbers and while I would normally agree with you when you look at Burke’s numbers since joining the Knicks they point to him keeping this up. Burke has played over 20 minutes five times since joining the Knicks and in those games, he has produced at least 17 fantasy points and is averaging 32.65 fantasy points. Burke has also played over 25 minutes four times since April of last season and in those four games, Burke is averaging 26.75 points, 6.5 assists, and 40 fantasy points. While this may come back to bite me in the ass I am going to ride the hot hand with Burke tonight as not only are the numbers in his favor but I expect him to play a lot of junk time as the Warriors should kill the Knicks tonight.

Paul George-$16,500-OKC

George sucked ass against the Warriors with a stat line of 5/5/3 on his way to under 20 fantasy points. While that was an awful performance I am throwing it out the window and instead focusing on the way George had been playing as that was fantastic. In his previous nine games this month, George averaged 29.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.3 steals. George produced at least 40 fantasy points in eight of those games and averaged over 49 fantasy points in those games. Tonight I expect we see George go back to that level of production as the match-up with the Magic is an excellent one. This season the Magic rank 24th in fantasy points allowed and have the second-worst defensive efficiency to small forwards this season.

Value Forward/Center

Cristiano Felicio-$7,000-CHI

Felicio struggled in his first game after being inserted into the Bulls starting lineup but bounced back nicely against the Wolves. In that game, Felicio stayed out of foul trouble and played 30 minutes while produced a stat line of 11/3/3 with two blocks on his way to 22.25 fantasy points. Tonight I expect we see a similar if not better performance from Felicio as the match-up doesn’t get any better than the Nets. The Nets have struggled against centers all season long and this season they are allowing the most rebounds per game, second most blocks per game, fourth most points per game and most fantasy points per game to the position.
