The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Thursday, February 8, 2018.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Stephen Curry-$19,500-GS

Kevin Durant is dealing with a hand injury and is questionable tonight. I am of the firm belief that Durant sits out as Steve Kerr has publicly stated his players were mentally tired and this gives him a way of resting Durant a bit before the all-star break. If Durant is out like I expect I don’t see how you don’t play Curry as Curry has been amazing with Durant out this season. In those seven games, Curry is averaging 32.4 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 55 fantasy points. How great Curry is without Durant is also reflected in his 39.7% usage rate and his 1.72 fantasy points per minute in the 362.1 minutes Curry has played with Durant on the bench this season. Not only does Curry get a huge boost if Durant is out but the match-up is a great one. This season the Mavs rank 20th in fantasy points allowed to point guards, 27th in defensive efficiency to the position and struggle to defend the three-point line as they are allowing teams to shoot 36.5% from deep which is the 18th worst mark in the league. Curry is going to go off in this game and is a must play for me tonight.

Value Guard

Josh Hart-$10,600-LAL

Hart has been amazing in his past three games all starts with Lonzo Ball out. Hart has double-doubled in each of those games and is averaging 14.7 points, 12 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals in 35 minutes of action. Hart has produced at least 36 fantasy points in each of those games. Tonight I don’t see a reason why Hart slows down as the Thunder are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA with Andre Roberson out of their lineup.

Steven Adams-$12,800-OKC

I will like Adams even more if Russell Westbrook plays tonight but even if Westbrook is out I still like Adams as he has dominated the Lakers this season. In their three meetings, Adams is averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.7 blocks. Adams has produced at least 29 fantasy points in each of those games. Adams not only plays well against the Lakers but he has been playing well period as he has produced over 28 fantasy points in 12 of his past 13 games. In cash games tonight I don’t see how Adams is not in your lineups with his floor.

Value Forward/Center

Kyle O’Quinn-$8,600-NY

The Knicks traded Willy Hernangomez yesterday and that leaves them very thin in the frontcourt with Kristaps Porzingis out for the season and Enes Kanter out for the night. With all three of those players out we should see O’Quinn play heavy minutes and one thing we know about O’Quinn is when he is on the court he produces. This season O’Quinn is averaging 14.10 points, 12.07 rebounds, 4.18 assists, 2.19 blocks, and 40.48 fantasy points per 36 minutes.

Zach Qualtieri

Zach Qualtieri
