Top Picks & Targets for NFL Week 16

In this article, I will be breaking down some of my top NFL plays on FantasyDraft position by position. I will be giving my top-ranked player at each position regardless and the reasons why I like them. I will also give you a FLEX player and this player will be my favorite player of the week at either of the skill positions minus quarterback. Now you may not be able to fit all five of these players in your lineup due to salary constrictions as while I am taking salary into account when making these plays I am not building an actual roster. This goal is with this article along with the value plays article that I will be writing later on in the week is meant to be a base to help you construct your winning lineups.

Blake Bortles-$12,600-JAX

We must be in the upside down as Bortles is by far my top quarterback this week. Bortles is just playing that well this month. In his three games this month, Bortles has 903 passing yards and seven touchdowns with only one turnover. Bortles has produced at least 18 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced at least 18 fantasy points in five of his past six games. Not only is Bortles playing lights out football but he is also in an elite match-up against a 49ers team that is allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Running Back

C.J. Anderson-$10,400-DEN

There was a lot of talk of Devontae Booker taking over as the lead back from Anderson but after the past couple of weeks, it is safe to put that talk to rest. Anderson has at least 19 touches in three straight games and in the past two weeks, he has a total of 52 carriers. In those games, Anderson is averaging 113.67 total yards and 14.37 fantasy points. This week I am expecting Andreson to continue to receive the bulk of the carries for the Broncos and for him to continue to produce at a high level as the Redskins are allowing the fifth-most rushing yards this season and rank in the bottom third in DVOA against the run.

Wide Receiver

Michael Thomas-$14,000-NO

Thomas is always one of my favorite wide receivers to target as he is one of the most consistent players at the position. This season Thomas has at least five catches in all but one game, at least 50 yards receiving in all but two games and double-digit fantasy points in all but two games. While those are amazing stats as hard as it is to believe, Thomas has been even better than those numbers the past two games. In those games, Thomas has 19 catches for 210 yards and two scores. Thomas has produced at least 24 fantasy points with one of those games coming against the same Falcons team he faces this week. With the Falcons struggles against teams top wide receivers this year I don’t see how you fade Thomas especially with this game being a must-win game in the Super Dome.

Tight End

Rob Gronkowski-$14,100-NE

Gronk is just in a zone right now. In his past three games, Gronk has 23 catches for 397 yards and two scores. Gronk has produced at least 25 fantasy points in each of those games with one of those games. One of those games came against the same Bills team he faces this week and while Gronk normally dominates the Bills in Buffalo and struggles against them at home I don’t think that is the case this week as I think Gronk continues his elite play. If you are spending up at the tight end position I don’t see how Gronk is not the one you spend up for.

Kareem Hunt-$14,400-KC

After the past two weeks, I think it is safe to say Hunt is back. In those two games, Hunt has 49 carries for 271 yards and two scores. Hunt has also been involved in the passing game with ten catches for 73 yards and a score. Hunt has produced at least 25 fantasy points in each of those games and is coming off a huge 42 fantasy point performance. This week I am expecting more of the same from Hunt as the Dolphins are an elite match-up. This season the Dolphins are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs and have really struggled over the past four weeks as they have allowed at least 26 fantasy points to the position in each game and are allowing an average of 33.08 fantasy points in those games.

Good luck with NFL this week!
