The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Monday, December 11, 2017.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

DeMar DeRozan-$14,400-TOR

I know DeRozan is on the second game of a back-to-back set and the numbers for DeRozan are ugly this season with zero days rest but I am having a hard time passing him over tonight for two reasons. The first reason is DeRozan is very affordable for his recent production. In his past four games, DeRozan is averaging 24.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7 assists and 1.5 steals. DeRozan has produced at least 43 fantasy points in each of those games. The second reason why I am having a hard time passing over DeRozan tonight is due to the elite match-up with the Clippers. The Clippers are one of the worst teams in the NBA in defending shooting guards. This season they are allowing the most fantasy points per game and have the second-worst defensive efficiency to the position. DeRozan also played really well against them last season with at least 40 fantasy points in both of those games.

Value Guard

David Nwaba-$7,200-CHI

I am going to ignore the horrible match-up against Boston with Nwaba tonight and just focus on the way Nwaba is playing as Nwaba is playing fantastic basketball. In the five games since returning from injury, Nwaba has played at least 22 minutes in four of the five games including at least 30 minutes in two straight games. In those games where Nwaba has played at least 20 minutes, he is averaging 11.5 points, 5.75 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2 blocks+steals. Nwaba has produced at least 17 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced at least 25 fantasy points in all but one game this season where he has played at least 20 minutes. Tonight Nwaba is fully expected to play over 20 minutes and I would be shocked if he didn’t threaten the 25 fantasy point mark once again.

Kevin Durant-$21,800-GS

Stephen Curry is still out for the Warriors and that is going to mean we get lots of Durant once again tonight. In the past two games with Curry out Durant is averaging 35.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 3.5 blocks. Durant has produced at least 70 fantasy points in each of those games. Now expecting Durant to go for 70 plus fantasy points once again tonight is a stretch but he should easily reach the 55 fantasy point mark tonight as the Trail Blazers rank 17th in fantasy points allowed per game and defensive efficiency to small forwards. Durant has also produced at least 50 fantasy points against the Trail Blazers the past three times he has faced them.

Value Forward/Center

Al-Farouq Aminu-$9,100-POR

Aminu had his minutes restriction lifted two games ago and has been excellent since then. Aminu is averaging 16 points, 5.5 rebounds, and a block while playing over 30 minutes in those games. Aminu produced at least 27 fantasy points in both games and I like him to threaten that amount again tonight as the Warriors rank in the bottom third in fantasy points allowed per game to power forwards.
