The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Friday, December 8, 2017.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Guard

Gary Harris-$12,800-DEN

I am all in on Harris tonight for two reasons. The first reason is due to the fact I think Harris is underpriced for his recent level of production. In his past four games, Harris is averaging 19.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3 steals. Harris has produced at least 32 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced at least 26 fantasy points in 10 of his past 12 games. The second reason why I am all in on Harris tonight is due to the match-up with the Magic. The Magic are one of the best match-ups in the NBA for Harris as this season they are allowing the second most fantasy points per game to shooting guards and have the second-worst defensive efficiency to the position. The Magic also rank in the bottom third in steals allowed per game. This game is also a game you are going to want maximum exposure to as this game has a projected point total of 218 which is the second highest on this slate.

Value Guard

Danny Green-$8,800-SA

This is a tough match-up for Green as Boston is the best defensive team in the NBA. This season Boston has the leagues best defensive efficiency as a team and ranks first in fantasy points allowed per game to shooting guards and defensive efficiency against the position. Normally I would not play players against Boston but I like Green due to the fact that Kyle Anderson is out. With Anderson out the past two games, Green has played at least 29 minutes and is averaging 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3 blocks and a steal. Green has produced at least 29 fantasy points in each of those games and if he even comes close to producing that level of production again tonight we I think he can he would easily pay off his salary.

Forward/Center

DeMarcus Cousins-$21,000-NO

Do I really need to tell you to play the Boogie Man against his former team with Anthony Davis likely out? The answer to that question should be no but there are going to be those of you out there who get cute and try to fade Cousins. Don’t be that person as Cousins is going to dominate once again tonight. The Kings would have trouble stopping the center on my eight-year-old son’s rec league team as they are that bad against the position. This season they have the third worst rebounding differential in the NBA, are allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position and have the fourth-worst defensive efficiency against the position. When these two teams met earlier in the season with Davis also out of the lineup, Cousins had 41 points, 23 rebounds, and 6 assists on his way to 83.75 fantasy points. As crazy as it sounds I like Cousins to reach that level of production again tonight. Once I am not getting cute with my lineups tonight and starting them all with Cousins.

Value Forward/Center

JaKarr Sampson-$7,100-SAC

Sampson is one of your top value plays tonight as he should get the start once again with Willie Cauley-Stein out and Skal Labissiere in the G-League as he did on Wednesday night. In that game against the Cavs, Sampson played over 32 minutes and had 6 points, 16 rebounds and a steal on his way to 28 fantasy points. With the Pelicans struggles against power forwards since Anthony Davis has been out Sampson should be in store for another big game relative to h
