Top Picks & Targets for NFL Week 13

In this article, I will be breaking down some of my top NFL plays on FantasyDraft position by position. I will be giving my top-ranked player at each position regardless and the reasons why I like them. I will also give you a FLEX player and this player will be my favorite player of the week at either of the skill positions minus quarterback. Now you may not be able to fit all five of these players in your lineup due to salary constrictions as while I am taking salary into account when making these plays I am not building an actual roster. This goal is with this article along with the value plays article that I will be writing later on in the week is meant to be a base to help you construct your winning lineups.

Jared Goff-$13,500-LAR

I wish the salary on Goff was cheaper as he is very expensive as the second highest quarterback on this slate. With that being said despite Goff’s expensive salary he is one of my favorite quarterbacks on this slate. The reason why Goff is one of my favorite quarterbacks on this slate is due to the match-up with the Cardinals. The Cardinals are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season and rank in the bottom half in terms of DVOA against the pass. Goff has thrived in these kinds of match-ups all season long especially as of late. In his past five games with three of those coming against teams that rank in the bottom five in terms of fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks with one of those teams being the Cardinals and with one against a team down their two starting cornerbacks, Goff has produced at least 19 fantasy points four times. In those games, Goff is averaging 313.75 passing yards, 2.5 passing touchdowns, and 26.13 fantasy points. Goff should have another big game this week and if you can find enough value to afford him Goff needs to be in your lineups.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey-$13,200-CAR

I hate the running back position this week and will personally be spending down at the position. With that being said I don’t mind McCaffrey this week if you are spending up at the position. The reason why I don’t mind McCaffrey is due to the full point per reception scoring on FantasyDraft. McCaffrey holds a lot of value on PPR sites as he is heavily involved in the passing game. This season McCaffrey leads all running backs in targets with 84, is second in receptions with 59 and is fourth in both receiving yards with 468 and receiving touchdowns with 3. That ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and in the slot has allowed McCaffrey to produce at least 8 fantasy points in every game this season and double-digit fantasy points in seven straight games. This week I am expecting more of the same from McCaffrey against a Saints team that has not only struggled against the run which McCaffrey is starting to have success doing but has also allowed the ninth most receptions to running backs this season.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams-$13,400-GB

Adams is one of the few Packers offensive players that has not taken a hit with Brett Hundley under center. In fact, Adams has actually gained value in my eyes as Hundley loves to target Adams. In his past five of the six games with Hundley under centers, Adams has seen at least eight targets. In each of those games, Adams has at least five catches for 50 yards. Adams has been especially great the past three weeks with 18 catches for 298 yards and two scores. Adams produced at least 19 fantasy points in each of those games and what makes those games even more impressive was the match-ups that Adams was in. The Ravens and Steelers have been two of the best teams in stopping wide receivers this season and the Bears have been no slouch. This week Adams finds himself in the polar opposite of those match-ups as the Packers take on the take on the Buccaneers. The Bucs are one of the worst teams in the NFL in stopping wide receivers as this season they are allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position. Adams should have another huge game in this one and he is one of my favorite wideouts on this slate.

Tight End

Jared Cook-$9,400-OAK

I know Cook let us down last week with only one catch for one yard but I am going back to the well with him this week for two reasons. The first reason is due to the losses in the Raiders receiving core. The Raiders are going to be without Michael Crabtree who was suspended due to his fight in the Broncos game and will also likely be without Amari Cooper who is dealing with a number of injuries. With both of those players out that should lead to more targets for Cook. The second reason why I want to play Cook this week is all due to the match-up with the Giants. The Giants despite holding Veron Davis to zero catches last week are the worst team in the NFL in stopping tight ends. This season they have allowed the fourth-most catches, third-most receiving yards, most touchdown catches and most fantasy points per game to the position. Cook should thrive this week and is one of my top plays on this slate.

Keenan Allen-$15,700-LAC

Allen has looked like he has been playing against middle school players the past two games. In those games, Allen has 23 receptions for 331 yards and three scores on 27 targets. Allen has at least 37 fantasy points in each of those games and has produced a total of 80.4 fantasy points in those games. Not only is Allen playing well right now but I love the match-up for Allen against the Browns. Jason McCourty rarely if ever cover the slot receiver for the Browns and that will leave Allen working against the Browns lesser corners who have been the worst in the NFL in terms of DVOA. Allen should feast again this week and is a must play despite being one of the most expensive players on this slate.

Good luck with NFL this week!
