The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Friday, November 10, 2017.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Guard

Damian Lillard-$17,300-POR

Lillard is by far my favorite player on this slate and he is the first player I am putting into my lineups tonight. There are several reasons why I like Lillard tonight with the main reason being the match-up with the Nets. The Nets are the perfect match-up for Lillard as they are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA and play at a fast pace. This season the Nets rank 22nd in defensive efficiency, are allowing the most points per game, most fantasy points per game, sixth-most fantasy points to point guards and play at the fastest pace in the NBA. That should be all the reason why you need to know to play Lillard but if you need another one look at the way Lillard is playing. Lillard struggled against Memphis as most players do but had been playing great as he averaged 54.4 fantasy points in his previous five games. Lillard is going to produce well over 50 fantasy points tonight and I would be shocked if he wasn’t the highest scoring player on this slate.

Value Guard

Denzel Valentine-$8,400-CHI

Valentine is too cheap for me tonight for the way he has been playing. After struggling to start the season, Valentine has played really well. In his past six games, Valentine is averaging 11.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks+steals. Valentine has played over 20 minutes five times in those games and in each of those games Valentine has produced at least 25 fantasy points. With David Nwaba out with an ankle injury and Zach LaVine still not ready to make his return to the court, Valentine should easily play over 20 minutes again tonight and I see no reason why he doesn’t continue his great play in a plus match-up against the Pacers in a game that should be high scoring.

Forward/Center

Andre Drummond-$16,200-DET

The Hawks have a horrible frontcourt and this season they are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to centers. The Hawks especially struggle rebounding the ball as they have the second worst rebounding rate and rebounding differential in the NBA. That is all music to my ears when it comes to Drummond as Drummond is the best rebounder in the NBA. Drummond has double-digit rebounds in every game this season and is averaging a league-best 15.1 rebounds per game. Drummond is also scoring at a nice clip with 14 points a game and getting the job done on the defensive end of the court as he is fifth in the NBA in steals per game with 1.91 and is averaging over a block a game. That elite all-around play has allowed Drummond to produce at least 35 fantasy points in each of his game this season and over 43 fantasy points for the season. Drummond is going to easily hit that amount tonight and I would not be shocked if Drummond had his first 20-20 game of the season.

Value Forward/Center

Marcus Morris-$9,300-BOS

I am buying low on Morris while I still can. Morris now that he is off a minutes restriction’s salary is going to rise and fast. Morris is really enjoying his move to Boston and in his three games this season he is averaging 13 points, 4 rebounds and over a steal in just 22 minutes of action. Morris is averaging over a fantasy point per minute in those games and has produced at least 25 fantasy points in both games that he has played over 20 minutes. Tonight with Al Horford out, Morris is going to easily play over 20 minutes tonight and I like him to have similar production against a Hornets team that has had some struggles against forwards this season.
