The NBA Core Four

Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core plays for FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for your NBA DFS contests on Friday, November 3, 2017.

In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft. They will consist of two guards with one of the guards being a value play and two forwards/centers with one of those players being a value play as well.

Guard

Devin Booker-$13,700-PHO

With Bledsoe out of the lineup, Booker becomes the man for the Suns and he has shown that he can produce in that role. In the 13 games, Bledsoe missed last season Booker had a usage rate of 33.5% and averaged 26.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.5 steals. In the five games, Bledsoe has missed this season Booker is putting up similar numbers with a usage rate of 29.1% and averages of 25.4 points, 5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 0.6 steals. Not only does Booker play very well with Bledsoe out but I love the match-up tonight as the Suns take on the Knicks in a game with the second highest projected point total on the slate at 223 points. With Booker still priced for his level of production with Bledsoe in the lineup, he is a must play for me tonight as he should easily produce 40 plus fantasy points in this game.

Value Guard

Shelvin Mack-$7,400-ORL

If Elfrid Payton misses another game tonight which is looking like a strong possibility, Mack would be an elite value play as D.J. Augustin has already been ruled out of this game. With both of those players out Mack would be the only healthy point guard for the Magic and he will be forced into big minutes. Mack showed last game what he could do when given minutes as he had nine points and eight assists on his way to 23 fantasy points in 25 minutes last game. Tonight with a match-up against a Bulls team that allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to point guards you can fully expect Mack to have an even bigger game tonight.

Forward/Center

LeBron James-$19,400-CLE

There are a lot of expensive players on this slate but one of those players stands out to me as a better play than the rest. That player for me is none other than the King LeBron James. There are several reasons why James stands out to me as your top play on this slate. The first reason is due to the Cavs needing a win tonight. The Cavs have lost four straight games and are off to one of their worst starts ever. Whenever the Cavs badly need a win they turn to LeBron to get the job done and LeBron normally responds. Just look at last game if you need proof. While the Cavs did not win last game LeBron showed out with 33 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, a block, and two steals on his way to 61 fantasy points. That was the fourth time this season LeBron has produced at least 60 fantasy points and the third time in his past five games. The second reason why I love James tonight is the match-up with the Wizards. The Wizards have been the worst team in the NBA this season against small forwards as they are allowing 50.86 fantasy points per game to the position which is three more than the next closest team. James also dominates the Wizards each time they play. Last season in his three games against them LeBron averaged 27.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 blocks+steals, and 59.3 fantasy points.

Value Forward/Center

Kyle Kuzma-$9,000-LAL

Kuzma continues to prove he can play in this league and has had two straight huge games. In his past two games, Kuzma is averaging 19 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 28.63 fantasy points. Not only has Kuzma played well as of late but his minutes are expected to rise with Larry Nance breaking his thumb. Kuzma played 29 minutes last night after Nance went down early and I expect he sees similar minutes tonight in an excellent match-up against the Nets. The Nets are allowing the most fantasy points per game to forwards this season. This game is also projected to be the highest scoring on the slate with a projected point total of 224. While I don’t normally like to eat chalk tonight is an exception when it comes to Kuzma.
