Top Value Picks & Targets for NFL Week 6

In this article, I will be breaking down some of my top value plays on FantasyDraft position by position. I will give you one or two names at each position to consider each week. This article is meant to be used in conjunction with our top plays article that comes out earlier in the week. Using both articles will give you a great base to help with your research.

Quarterback

Case Keenum-$10,000-MIN

Not a lot of value at the quarterback position this week and I personally will be spending up at the position. With that being said I don’t mind Keenum this week as he should get the start with Sam Bradford reinjuring his knee. Keenum has not been spectacular in Bradford’s place but he has been solid and has shown upside as he did eat the Buccaneers defense up for 369 yards and three scores. The matchup against the Packers is also not a horrible matchup as the Packers are average at best against the pass. This season the Packers rank 15th in DVOA against the pass and 11th in fantasy points allowed per game to the position. Keenum is not going to win you a GPP this week but he should get you a solid 15 fantasy points which is all we really can ask of him at his salary.

Running Back

Alvin Kamara-$8,800-NO

The Saints traded Adrian Peterson to the Cardinals yesterday and that makes Kamara an excellent value play with the full point per reception scoring system that FantasyDraft uses. Kamara is not going to do much in the run game as he has a total of 15 carries in his four-game career but he adds a lot of value in the passing game. Kamara has 20 catches for 147 yards on 28 targets this season. The targets and receptions are both ninth best out of running backs this season with Kamara playing one less game. With Peterson gone Kamara should see an increase in all of his numbers as Peterson touched the ball an average of 7.5 times a game. Not only should Kamara see more playing time and touches to go along with his already solid numbers but the matchup also is in Kamara’s favor as the Lions have allowed 32 receptions to running backs this season which is fourth most in the NFL. Kamara should easily produce double-digit fantasy points this week and in cash games, I don’t see how he is not in your lineups.

Elijah McGuire-$9,100-NYJ

I am going to be watching the Jets injury report closely this week as both Bilal Powell and Matt Forte are dealing with injuries. If both guys miss this weeks game, McGuire is going to be in for a heavy workload as the only healthy Jets running back. Not only would McGuire be in line for a ton of touches this week but the matchup is also a dream one as the Patriots have been one of the worst teams in the NFL against the run. This season the Patriots rank in the bottom ten in rushing yards allowed per game and DVOA to running backs. The Patriots also are allowing a league-worst 30 fantasy points per game to running backs. If McGuire is going to get 20 touches this week he is a must play for me in this matchup as the rookie is as talented as they come.

Wide Receiver

Martavis Bryant-$9,200-PIT

I really like Bryant this week against the Chiefs as the Chiefs really struggled against opposing teams secondary passing option. The Chiefs have allowed at least 100 yards receiving or a score to each of their five opposing teams WR2 this season. Not only do the Chiefs struggle in that aspect but Bryant is five hundred times more talented than any WR2 the Chiefs have faced this year. I am going to call my shot right here and right now with Bryant and say that despite this being a road game for the Steelers that Bryant finds his way to the end-zone.

Tight End

A.J. Derby-$5,200-DEN

Derby is coming off a career game in the Broncos last game. In that game, Derby had four catches for 75 yards and a score on his way to over 17 fantasy points. Derby equaled or surpassed his number of catches, yards, targets, and touchdowns he had combined for the whole season in that game against the Raiders. While I am not sure that Derby can have anywhere near that level of production again this week I like his chances as the Giants are an excellent matchup for tight ends. This season the Giants have allowed the second most catches, the most receiving yards, most touchdowns, and the most fantasy points per game to the position.

Good luck with NFL this week!
