The MLB Daily Three Pack

Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players and one bonus play on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Friday, September 29, 2017.

If you are new to this article or forgot the format in this article I will give you a pitcher, infielder, and outfielder I am going to building my lineups around regardless of salary. I will end the article with my utility player to target. The utility player to target is my favorite hitter on this slate and the player I am going to have the most exposure to tonight.

Pitcher to Target

Dan Straily-$14,000-MIA

There are a lot of pitchers on this slate that I like but one guy that stood out to me as a great option was Straily. Straily has been very inconsistent this season but has looked amazing in his past two starts. In those starts, Straily has allowed two runs while striking out 17 in 11 innings of action. Straily has produced at least 25 fantasy points in both of those games. Not only is Straily pitching well but I also like the matchup for him against the Braves. The Braves have struggled against right-handed pitching this season as they rank 25th in team wOBA against them. Now Straily did struggle the last time out against the Braves so there is a chance of a Straily blowup but with Vegas having the Braves projected for under four runs tonight and with Straily only being $14,000 in salary I am more than willing to risk the potential blowup with Straily tonight.

Infielder to Target

Trevor Story-$8,700-COL

I am really surprised Story is not more expensive tonight as Story is at home against a left-handed pitcher. This season at Coors, Story has an OPS of 1.211, an ISO of .491 and a wOBA of .479 against left-handed pitching. Story is not only excellent against left-handed pitching but he is also hitting the ball really well right now. Story has hits in six straight games and in his past two games, he has seven rbis. During that time frame of games, Story has reached double-digit fantasy points four times and I expect him to hit that with ease in this one.

Outfielder to Target

Nick Williams-$7,200-PHI

Matt Harvey is a joke of a pitcher at this point of his career and I love to target hitters against him. I especially love to target left-handed hitters against Harvey as he has really struggled against them. This season Harvey is allowing lefties to slash .319/.419/.604 with a .425 wOBA. Williams is the perfect left-handed hitter to target against Harvey as he has been really good in his short career against right-handed pitching. In his rookie season, Williams has an OPS of .818, an ISO of .202 and a wOBA of .345 against them. Williams has also been consistent as of late with fantasy points scored in eight straight games. I like Williams to continue that trend in this one and dollar for dollar he is one of my favorite hitters on this slate.

Utility Player to Target

Nolan Arenado-$10,800-COL

With only two more days in the regular season, there is no reason to get cute. Stick with what has worked all season long and for me, that has been rostering Nolan Arenado against left-handed pitching. Arenado has been one of the best in the business against lefties if not the best. This season among hitters with at least 100 plate appearances, Arenado ranks second in batting average at .410, second in wOBA at .525, second in OPS at 1.292 and third in ISO at .417 against left-handed pitching. Those numbers to no one’s surprise only get better at Coors Field and that is where Arenado will be playing tonight. Arenado has produced at least six fantasy points in each of his past three games is easily going to hit that mark tonight and despite his high salary, I will not be fading him on this slate.
