Seeking Value: April 6

Welcome back to another edition of Seeking Value in the FantasyDraft Locker Room. There are six games on tonight’s slate, and there is plenty of action to go around, which should help us uncover some pretty nice value options. I’m going to throw out two guards and two forward/centers to help you round out your lineups tonight. With all that said, let’s get on to my four favorites.

Greg Monroe– C –Milwaukee Bucks – $9,400

Going to have to admit that the value on today’s slate is not exactly that tempting. This is a really interesting position to be in on a night where I do think you kind of need it. That said, I think Greg Monroe is too cheap. Yes, Jason Kidd hates him. I don’t know why, he just does. He’s going to play 12-32 minutes tonight, which is always such a great range to have with a player.

The reason he’s here is that he can put up points quick if he is on the court. Indiana likes to play bigger, so I think we’ll see him on the floor. Also, Myles Turner has been a sieve this year and I think it makes a lot of sense to target him. At this price, with upside over 40, he’s a guy worth a look.

Nik Stuaskas– SG –Philadelphia 76ers – $8,700

I believe the status of Sergio Rodriguez is up in the air right now, which means we could get more run from Sauce Castillo. He’s certainly not my favorite guy to run out there, but like I was with Rodney Hood a few weeks ago, if it makes sense, I’m going to roll with it.

Assuming Rodriguez is out, we could see Sauce flirt with minutes in the early 30’s, which is where his overall ceiling is at as well. I think he’s a pretty good bet to come through for us tonight, and I think he’s unlikely to burn us that badly. He’s definitely not my favorite, but there is a good chance he’ll make it out of this thing just fine.

Evan Turner – SG – Portland Trail Blazers – $7,300

I think a nice, and cheaper, pivot from Nik Stauskas tonight will be Evan Turner. While he is unlikely to see the amount of minutes, he is just being more productive with them. Not to mention, he doesn’t need to do as much.

He’s working his way back from injury at this point, but he’s starting to see his playing time increase, as well as his overall production. I think this matchup is great against the Timberwolves, as they tend to score points and give a lot of them up as well.

I’m expecting 22-25 minutes tonight, and a point per minute is certainly not out of the question for Turner.

Thaddeus Young – PF – Indiana Pacers – $9,500

Let’s wrap things up with my second favorite value play tonight behind Greg Monroe, Thaddeus Young. It’s been an awful season for Young, who started out pretty sharp, but quickly faded into irrelevance. Of course, now that the season is winding down, he is starting to look sharp again.

I’ve really stopped focusing on matchup as a whole as of late and just focus on how a player is playing, if they are contributing late into games and does the team have something to play for. It’s the end of the year, so it wouldn’t be uncommon to see guys shut down.

Fortunately, Young checks off all three  of those boxes tonight, so I think it’s worth noting. I would imagine his ownership to stay low considering his price isn’t exactly super cheap. I thing a 30-burger is in the works tonight, so I want to have some shares.

I hope you enjoyed today’s value plays. You can find more NBA content, including projections, over at ResearchFantasy.
