Seeking Value: March 30

Welcome back to another edition of Seeking Value in the FantasyDraft Locker Room. There are five games on tonight’s slate, and there is plenty of action to go around, which should help us uncover some pretty nice value options. Last night finished up mostly positive. Cory Joseph and Rodney Hood came through, and Andre Iguodala and Skal Labissiere didn’t disappoint. Let’s hope to build off of this tonight. With all that said, let’s get on to my four favorites.

Kris Dunn – PG – Minnesota Timberwolves – $7,700

With little doubt, Kris Dunn will be the most popular play on the slate tonight. He’s cheap, getting minutes and playing the Lakers. Is there really anything else that needs said other than that?Okay, I’ll add one more thing: he’s probably the safest of all the Timberwolves.

If this game is close, he’s going to see 30+ minutes. If this game is a blowout, he’s going to see 30+ minutes. I would have to put his production window between 25-30 FantasyDraft points, which makes him an excellent value and an absolute lock in your lineups.

Al-Farouq Aminu – SF –Portland Trail Blazers – $8,800

Al-Farouq Aminu was not doing so well, but over the last three games he’s really turned his play around. I like how this game shapes up for him, and being probably the best defender on the team will likely keep him on the court a little bit longer tonight. His price puts him around 25-28 FantasyDraft points to hit value, something he’s done in back-to-back games now.

This game has the highest total and the closest spread, so you want to have some guys from this game, and something tells me we won’t see a ton of lineups with Aminu. He doesn’t make me feel great, but everything is lining up for him.

Alan Williams – PF – Phoenix Suns – $9,900

Speaking of guys who don’t make me feel great, Alan Williams fits that bill to a tee. After firing out of the All-Star Break white hot, his consistency has come to a screeching, and frustrating, halt.

This game has one of the largest spreads of the night, and it’s a virtual certainty that the Clippers will blow the Suns out. I think that will not affect the amount of minutes that Williams sees. Even against DeAndre Jordan, I’m not exactly worried about him tonight, but man, does this guy like to foul.

Against Marreese Speights, things would be even better. Williams is athletic enough to handle Speights, and we could be looking at another double-double situation tonight. Again, he is very unstable right now, but I am a risk taker, and assuming he’ll see very low ownership, this could be a situation where it pays off.

Patrick Beverley – PG – Houston Rockets – $9,800

Patrick Beverley really broke my heart Tuesday night, because I really expected something better than what we got. And yet here we are again. Isn’t that just the way with daily fantasy?

I mentioned when I talked about Al-Farouq Aminu that we wanted to make sure we had exposure to this game because of the high total. Damian Lillard is not known as being a defender. He isn’t the worst in the league, but he definitely isn’t a guy who we are going to go out of our way to avoid.

I was also hoping that the price would drop a bit as well, but no such luck. With James Harden nursing a wrist injury, you could see more of the players around him trying to chip in, which is why I think we’ll see a nice bounce back effort from The Bev tonight.
