Semien Tops Fantasy Charts Despite A’s Loss

Oakland SS Marcus Semien Comes up Big

The Oakland A’s may have lost to the Mariners 4-3 yesterday, but anyone who happened to pick up Oakland shortstop Marcus Semien is probably feeling like a winner.

Semien cost just $6,300 on FantasyDraft yesterday and put up a league high 31 fantasy points. Semien’s line include 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, and 1 1B.

Sticking with the Oakland/Seattle matchup, it was Mariners’ pitcher Felix Hernandez who finished second in FPs among all players, posting 24.15 during Seattle’s win. Hernandez cost FantasyDraft players $22,700 yesterday.

In other action around the league, we saw the Angels beat the Astros 3-1, Pittsburgh get the win over St. Louis 4-3, the Rangers pick up a win over the Rays 2-1, and the Diamondbacks top the Padres 2-1. Padres’ pitcher Andrew Cashner finished among the top players in fantasy yesterday despite the loss, totaling 21.35 FPs on the day.

The Yankees topped the Orioles 6-2, Boston shut down the Blue Jays 6-3, Washington picked up a win over the Atlanta Braves 5-4, and the Brewers picked up their 11th win of the season against the Cubs, 3-2.

Miami fell to San Francisco 3-2, Kansas City picked up a win over Detroit 2-1, and the Dodgers found their 20th win of the season by beating the Rockies 9-5. Dodgers’ 1B Adrian Gonzalez put up a game high 20 FPs during the L.A. win.

The Cleveland Indians stomped out Minnesota 8-2 yesterday, the Mets handed the Phillies the team’s 21st loss of the year, winning the matchup 7-4, and the White Sox came up with a win over the Reds, 4-3.
