Left Fielder Carlos Peguer Made a Big Impact for the Rangers with Two HRs

The Texas Rangers closed out their series with the Houston Astros yesterday on a high note, completing the sweep with an 11-3 win. The sweep comes as the Rangers’ first series win of the season, bringing Texas now to 11-16. Left fielder Carlos Peguero hit two home runs during the matchup.

The Angels beat the Mariners 4-3, the Cubs topped the Cardinals 20-7, the Indians won against the Royals 10-3, and the Milwaukee Brewers picked up their ninth win of the season over the L.A. Dodgers 6-3. The Brewers put most of their runs on the board early, plating five runs during the first inning.

Nationals’ right fielder Bryce Harper helped give Washington the firepower it needed to beat the Marlins yesterday, hitting a home run his first three times at the plate.

The Twins stormed past the A’s 13-0, Twins’ left fielder Eddie Rosario making history as he joined the ranks of the 28 other players in MLB history to hit a homerun on their first pitch.

The White Sox picked up a win against the Tigers, 7-6, the Rays beat out the Red Sox 5-3, the Braves are victorious over the Phillies, 7-5, and the Orioles fall to the Mets, 5-1. The win comes as New York’s 18th on the season.

The Diamondbacks and Rockies played two games yesterday, making up for their postponed matchup originally scheduled for Tuesday. Arizona came up with wins on both occasions yesterday, at first winning 13-7, and then limiting Colorado to just one run in their 5-1 victory.

The Blue Jays beat out the Yankees 5-1, the Pirates fell to the Reds 3-0, and the Padres beat the Giants handily, 9-1. San Diego is now 15-14 on the year.
