Bulls, Clippers Steal Home Court Advantage

Chicago and Los Angeles both grabbed Game 1 wins on the road.

Chicago opened up the second round against the Cavaliers, a team that many of the Bulls players have wanted to take down since the 2010 playoff series. The Bulls came out looking to score, dropping 27 points on the home team in the first quarter. The Cavs rebounded and closed the gap to 5 by the half, but turnovers killed Cleveland, and they went down in a 99-92 loss.

Los Angeles took the court in Houston without their floor general, Chris Paul. But the bench stepped up and knocked down timely buckets to keep the Clippers in it. Houston lost the game in the second half, turning the ball over and being outscored by 10 points in both the third and fourth quarters. The Rockets lost the game, and home-court advantage, 117-101.

FantasyDraft Top Performers:

LeBron James and Blake Griffin were on triple-double watch, but only one clinched it. In Chris Paul’s absence, Griffin dominated Game 1 with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists for 65.50 fantasy points. James fell just short of the triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists, totaling 57.75 fantasy points.

Another night, another double-double for James Harden, but he was far from spectacular. Harden had 20 points and 12 dimes, but added nine turnovers in the double-digit loss to the Clippers. Dwight Howard was a bit more secure with the ball and had a double-double in points and rebounds (48.5 fantasy points), but was not enough to slow down both DeAndre Jordan (46.75 fantasy points) and Griffin.

The steal of the night was Matt Barnes ($8,400). He filled the box score with 20 points, 5 boards and 4 steals on his way to 43.25 fantasy points.
