Trumbo Is Pick of the Day

Yesterday was a good day for baseball in both the real world and for fantasy, especially if you your name happens to be Mark Trumbo. The Diamondbacks’ right fielder put up 38 fantasy points with his line of 1 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 2 1B, and 1 3B during Arizona’s 12-5 win over Colorado. His fantasy performance was even sweeter due to the fact that he cost just $8,400 on FantasyDraft.

In other action around the league, several of yesterday’s games made their way into the double digits, including a 13-12 Nationals win over the Braves, which ended a six-game losing streak for Washington.  Over on the west coast, the Astros picked up a 14-3 win in San Diego, Houston’s fifth win in a row, despite a solid showing by San Diego pitcher Tyson Ross, who struck out nine batters on the day.

St. Louis picked up an 11-5 win over the Phillies, improving to 13-6, and KC cruised past the Indians, 11-5. The Blue Jays also faced the Red Sox yesterday, pulling out the win, 11-8.

The Yankees picked up their 13th win of the season yesterday against the Rays, 4-2, the Marlins beat out the Mets 4-3, and the Giants took down the Dodgers 2-1. Giants’ pitcher Madison Bumgarner posted 34.4 FPs on the day with his line of 1 ER, 5 H, 8 IP, 9 K, 1 BB, W.

The Twins won their first game of their series against Detroit yesterday, topping the Tigers 3-2, Seattle took down the Rangers 2-1, and the Cubs took another game in their series with the Pirates, 6-2. Cubs pitcher Travis Wood struck out nine batters on the day.

Finally, the A’s took down the Angels, 6-2, and Cincinnati took the second game of their series against the Brewers, 4-2.
