Bring Out the Brooms?

Out of the four games on schedule for Sunday, three of them had the chance to end in a series sweep. The Cavaliers, Wizards and Rockets all had a chance to close things out and get some rest before the second round. First up was Cleveland, but if it was anything like the previous games, Boston was not going to make it easy. The game was extremely physical from the tip, and got ugly as the game continued. There were technical and flagrant fouls assessed throughout the game, and after injuries to Kevin Love and Jae Crowder, the refs were able to get things under control. In the end, Cleveland was able to fend off the scrappy Boston squad and come away with a 101-93 victory.

The Clippers were down 2-1 in San Antonio and in full desperation mode. Los Angeles came out with a purpose, led by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. But the Clippers’ bench was the difference. Austin Rivers and Jamal Crawford gave the team some big plays in their time, helping to get a 114-105 victory and tie the series at 2-2. The Wizards defeated the Raptors handily as Toronto did not put up much of a fight, giving them some much needed rest before the next round. On the other side, the Rockets took the Mavericks lightly and lost, 121-109. The two Game 5 matchups will be on Tuesday.
