Scherzer and Kershaw Come up Big

Max Scherzer

A bunch of good games yesterday, so let’s get to it.

The Tigers took down the White Sox, 2-1, while the Padres picked up their 7th win of the year against the Cubs, 5-4. Padres’ center fielder Wil Myers’ three-run homer in the 7th inning was key during the win.

The Pirates topped the Brewers 6-3, the Dodgers beat the Rockies 7-3, and the Diamondbacks shut out the Gaints 9-0.

Nationals’ pitcher Max Scherzer posted the most fantasy points of any player yesterday, totaling 35.6 FPs on the day. He finished the day with an impressive line of 1 ER, 4 H, 8 IP, 9 K, and W.

Not far behind Scherzer was Clayton Kershaw, who totaled 35.3 FPs pitching for the Dodgers yesterday. Kershaw racked up a line of 1 ER, 6 H, 6 IP, 12 K, 1 BB, W during the L.A. win.

It wasn’t much of a surprise that these guys were the top performers yesterday in fantasy, as both guys are consistently impact players and normally cost upwards of $20,000. It’s expected that these types of guys perform at a certain level on a regular basis.

While a good performance by Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez doesn’t really come as a surprise either, I would consider him steal yesterday at $7,800. A-Rod put up 35 FPs during the Yankees’ win over the Rays.

A’s catcher Stephen Vogt would’ve been another good pickup yesterday, chalking up 33 FPs during Oakland’s 6-4 loss to Kansas City. Vogt cost FantasyDraft players only $7,600.
